The GOP needs to find someone to come and fix the party down here because there is no reason we should be losing much less not have a qualified GOP Governor candidate.

If I were dems I would definitely target the senate race in Louisiana in 2020. Bill Cassidy is vulnerable and lots of swing voters in the bayou state are moving towards dems.

According to Matthew Dowd (Maureen Dowd's son).

GOP in Louisiana lost the 18th District to a Democrat, the 62nd District to an Independent, 17th District to a Democrat, and 18th to a Democrat.

BTW there is no reason we should have lost in two of these districts since they were heavily Republican districts.

On the flip side is this type of mailer really fricking necessary?

Don't understand how GOP lost 17th District to a Democrat, when the seat was vacated by a Democrat, and only Democrats ran for the seat?????

There's a big difference between State and Federal races.

We may well see some seats in the state legislature swap across the aisle with this election due to Edwards having no real competition to challenge him (no big, statewide scandals, good financial rhetorical platform, no competition with enough name recognition below I-10) but I don't think it will transfer over to the Federal elections.

At this point Trump is looking like a Reagan 84 landslide for 2020 and Louisiana is very heavily Trump. Democrats in Louisiana will need to walk a very fine line between hooking onto JBE's wagon but doing so without being anti-Trump.

Hallelujah that an Indy can come in and win.

Louisiana needs more Independents honestly.

So Louisiana lost 1 "R"ino, but lost no conservatives.
Nothing changes.

Louisiana GOP has succeeded despite itself.

A committee of retards and apes could run a more effective party.

STATE does not reflect a trend for US Congress.

Propaganda chicken little!

Voter turnout, 14%, 25%, 17%
Looks like apathy to me dog!

Won't happen for federal seats.

You should be banned for such a disingenuous post.

Two Democrats ran against each other.

One Republican ran in a heavily Democrat District.

quote:

If elected, Fabre would be the first Republican to ever serve in the legislature from the 18th district, which comprises all of Pointe Coupee parish - as well of parts of Iberville Parish and West Baton Rouge. The seat became open when former State Rep. Major Thibaut (D) was elected Pointe Coupee Parish President.

And an independent grocery store owner who looks pretty middle of the road beat the Republican logger.

Having 19 different elections each year isn’t helping.

This shite needs to stop.

One day... ONE each year is all we need unless there’s a runoff which should be seven days after the election.

I didn't even realize there was an election last Saturday. Looks like I only had to vote for 2 local property tax millage extensions anyway.
