A few legislators in Louisiana have tried the same thing, but their bill wouldn’t gain any traction.

I read the article maybe over a decade ago. Might have been Indiana/Illinois/Iowa. Something around there.

The town's budget plummeted like 80%. They were building new city hall, courts, rec centers, all kinds of stuff. Wonder what happened to it. I'll never be able to find that article.
