Im 40 years old and self employed. Ive been contributing to a traditional IRA for years. I just now realized how much they charge.

Im looking for the best broker for IRA holdings. Ive had a TD Ameritrade brokerage account for a while, but mostly use Robinhood for stocks.

I want to be hands on for the most part. As long as there are some low cost good index funds that's all I need. I would manipulate it a couple times a year maybe.

So far its between TD Ameritrade and Vanguard. I was just looking for opinions from the board. Thanks for any input.

Of those two Vanguard,
but if your primary concern is fees Fidelity has funds with no fees/ no minimum.

I second Fidelity.

Also, USAA is no-fee if you qualify for membership. Their interface isn't as fancy-dancy as Fidelity's but that's what I like about it. Great customer service too.

not to Hijack, but i was maybe looking to leave USAA due to not the best performance. I realize they may have low or no fees, but it seems like my money is going nowhere.
