Opinion of people who are involved in Multi-level Marketing/ Direct sales

What is the deal with these people selling oils, make-up, tupperware and even diet plans/ health coaching on facebook? I can't believe how many people I know who engage in this bullshite (like about 10). Does anyone know someone who actually makes a profit doing these programs? These individuals post videos of themselves putting on make-up or rubbing oil on their eyes or allegedly helping some whale lose weight by telling them to eat less because they are a "health coach" now and they travel all over the country to "conventions" or "retreats" where they apparently make contact with the holy spirit or L. Ron Hubbard or something who tell them to sell more bullshite. Its like a cult. They post these robotic canned pitches that make them look ridiculous. Its kind of sad.
Also, does anyone know of any men who engage in this crap or is it strictly a female thing?

This, whatever they make is better than nothing.

These people are the worst. Luckily I know of a product that you can buy right now that will eliminate this type of clutter from Facebook. Let me know if you're interested and I'll give you a free demonstration.

I know a couple. Not close friends. Just acquaintances. It’s annoying as frick.

A few people used to pester me with a couple of these companies. They were convinced they were going to be rich and how I was missing out on the opportunity of a lifetime. 10+ years later they collect their little $50 or so dollars a month and still think they're on the verge of making it big.

Only takes one person to get roped into it
Then that one person gets stuck, so she begins to lie or exaggerate what she’s doing to get her friends into the pyramid so that she doesn’t lose her arse on this. Those friends are also slightly less stupid but they are usually just trusting that their friend wouldn’t be lying to them. And so goes on the cycle
It’s always amazing to me how many comments and shite someone will get when some girl from high school posts “WHO HERE WANTS A PART TIME JOB THAT CAN BRING YOU HOME 2000 A WEEK?!!”.
I know one girl who always posts that she is KILLIN it and looking for more people to join so they can all make money, then in other videos she will mention that she “works two other jobs just to get out the house”.

Is it though? I assume they have to purchase what they sell from the company and incur the risk if they can't move it?

My wife fell for it with Monat (shampoo). She only posted maybe once or at the most twice a month about it. She didn’t push the getting people under you part, just pushed selling the product. She did and still does sell a lot but no longer uses social media for it. People mostly contact her for it now many times out of the blue, I told her no harassing my family over it, mention you sell it one time and if they are interested than whatever, if not, don’t bring it up again, regarding my family at least. That last sentence was long as frick

Direct sales or MLM folks that are focused on sales - fine by me.
MLM folks who are focused on signing you up to sell - terrible.
Unfortunately, there are FAR more in the latter group than the former.

They are all shitty people preying on their friends and family to buy bullshite that they don't need, or is a shite product that actually does nothing.
I would be less insulted if they just asked me for money because they don't want to work a real job.

Most people who get roped into this shite end up with unmovable product and a net loss on the whole thing.
Then the companies press “levels” to reach in order to encourage these people to sink even more money into product that they can’t sell or that is worthless. There’s been a couple cases where the people went into serious debt to keep up this charade and had a garage full of this garbage MLM shite
