The “rebuild” excuse has been used since Orgeron took over. I’m pointing out that this “excuse” can no longer be used. (It was always invalid because if you do the 4 years prior to this ranking you will still end up at #3 or #4).

What were we ranked in recruiting in the years (and the years preceding) when Miles started to tank?

Well, the difference between 10 and 3 isn't that much. A handful of players can make or break that order and we know theres always attrition.

The 2018 composite talent ratings, Clemson is ranked above LSU

Yeah, I've always thought these rankings were a bit more self-fulfilling than a lot of people want to admit.

Dude, Les Miles's ratings didn't count.

The current head coach's ratings didn't count either until they were high.

All teams in top 5 have been in playoffs except one. Obviously talent isn’t the issue then. Must be coaching

We're in the unfortunate position of having to likely beat both the #1 and #2 teams on the list to get in. Can't say that about anyone else in the top 5

I won't waste my time.

If you want to compare talent by using recruiting rankings then look at the guys that play and that's it.

Don't look at recruiting rankings by themselves.

Weighting classes and trying to predict success down the road isn't the answer.

If it were Clemson wouldn't ever be able to beat Bama. No team would ever beat Bama but some do.

LSU must play 4 of the top 10 teams every year. Bama plays 3 every year. UGA plays two. Teams like Ohio State and Oklahoma play just one or none.

Teams like Ohio State, Clemson and Oklahoma are where they are, in part, because they simply do not play the most talented teams in the regular season every year.

I love it when some nobody/alter calls out a board veteran as being an alter.

Makes me smirk.

Well, exactly one of these teams has failed to make the playoffs.

hat Oklahoma and Ohio St schedule though. And Clemson for that matter. I'm not making excuses, we should win more and it's playoffs/championship game or bust this year, but what OK, Oh St, and Clemson have to do to get to the playoffs and what we have to do is not the same. It's not even close to the same, actually.

Hmm I beg to differ. I counted OVERALL record in the winning percentage which means this takes into consideration the playoffs.

All the teams besides LSU have played in the playoffs and most more than once in the 4 years.

BTW: Clemson has made 4 appearances in the playoffs in the four years. 2 NC's and 1 runner up so that is 7 games against the top 4 teams in the country that were counted in their winning percentage.

When you are an obvious alter you need to be careful what you type.

Be careful and try to act like you have only been a member for just over 3 months.

Bitching about stuff from years ago blows the cover that nobody bought anyway.

2015

9-3, 5-3 with a bad offense.

2018:

10-3, 5-3 with a more bad offense.

Anyone with college football understanding realizes NY6 bowl importance dropped with the playoffs.

LSU not finishing in the top six of the playoff bowl committee or even in the top ten is more important to any ridiculous rebuild fantasy.

Or maybe I live in Louisiana and hear what people have been saying since Orgeron was hired.

Don’t get mad that I’ve called you and your alter accounts out. That’s called projecting.

My neighbor loves Orgeron. He’s been telling me about this “rebuild” since the hire.

I asked him yesterday to point specifically how we are better off now than we were under Miles.
