Hmmm... our guys usually do that by blocking. What are you confused about?

I think you will find that our OL is quicker than what you are used to. Smaller? Yes, but with our speed, zone blocking, and the deception with the read option, I think we can find some running lanes.

Our QB will make your LBs play honest D. If they don't our OGs will have a good time at the second level.

Will our guys push your guys around all night? Probably not, but then, a stalemate is a win for an Olineman.

If our new co-DC's do the right thing and blitz the hell out of this guy and force him into quick decision making, the game will be over by halftime. If they sit back like we saw too much of last year, it will be interesting for awhile........

Hard to blitz when your spread 3, 4, 5 wide IMO.

There is a reason you play in 1 AA, it is sub par talent and football. You only wish that your team could be bumped up to 1 A. Now go back to work in that coal mine.

How bout giving us 22 more scholarships to equal your total, then we'll talk about competing for the Corporate America Bowl Series.

Well the best way I know to do it is to compare our performance against Michigan.

First we only lost one O-lineman this year, Kerry Brown. This gives us a veteran line that is familiar with a defense that is larger and supposedly better.

Second, as it was mentioned earlier, if you blitz a spread offense then Aramnti will go to the air with a very accurate arm to some very fast receivers. One of which is Brian Quick, 6'5" 200lb. sophomore.

Third, in Ann Arbor the ASU O-line only allowed one sack for a loss of 10 yards. ASU's D got 4 sacks on Chad Henne for a total loss of only 16.

And Lastly, while Michigan did rack up 479 total yards Appalachian gained 387 with 160 yards rushing and 227 yards passing.

So one can see that if you put too much effort in to planning for killing our QB then a team can get burnt in the air or by our running back.

Now your D is big and somewhat fast but our size isn't that much smaller.

Plus speed kills!!!

Most LSU fans are ignorant about any other team in college football. Most probably have never even watched Armanti Edwards play before.

First off, LSU will win this game. If LSU scores 17 they win. ASU won't get more than 14. The only reason they will get 14 is because of A. Edwards. Guy is a stud at QB and is a GREAT athlete. He will probably end up getting drafted after this year to play WR in the NFL (assuming he can catch the ball).

He will cause problems. Simple as that. He is very quick and has great speed. That equals problems for LSU defensively. LSU will be able to get pressure on him, but he will escape that pressure 8 out of 10 times. He is faster and more agile than our best and most agile DL and LBs. He will outrun LSU defensive players...count on it. If you don't recognize how good of a player he is then you need to realize that their are great players outside of the SEC and LSU for that matter (look at Joe Flacco just going #18 overall in the draft from an ASU opponent).

LSU will win because they will destroy ASU on the line. LSU will run all day long and pass occasionally. If LSU runs for 300 yards between all 4 backs then it would not surprise me. It also would not surprise me if LSU does not throw for over 200 yards.

App. State is a formidable opponent. Take off your purple and gold glasses and realize it.

At the end of the day LSU wins. My prediction is 38-14.

This will be like the New York Giants playing the champions of the CFL. These App St fans certainly have Napoleon's complex!

LSU is NOT Michigan........oh, and defensive speed kills too. Based on our overall depth, talent, and the fact that Appy State will NOT be taken lightly, I like our chances in T.S. ...... ALOT

I've been defending ASU as a worthy and dangerous opponent throughout this thread, but these are very dumb statements.

No way they score 52 points in that game. Both teams will run the shite out the ball milking the clock and limiting possessions.

I think 24-13 or something like that is more likely.

I like ASU's comfidence. I'll admit that I don't know a lot about them except that they bet Mich. and won the title in their league. But, I do know LSU and our defensive backs are'nt all that inexperienced. Chad Jones and Taylor will have their teamates ready and lets not forget about Coleman. I'm sure the coaches are aware of the problem with mobile QB's and I expect that to be corrected. Wishful thinking ASU fans.

If they aren't confident that they are going to win, then what's the point of playing?

Honestly, LSU will win this game. This might be the most over-hyped game ever between D-1 and D-1AA. (which isn't really saying much, there is no hype). LSU had a greater chance of losing to U-lala than to App State. I really do believe there is a significant talent gap between the two divisions. nothing I have read here has convinced me that App state is going to win. However, they do have a shot (like any team on any given day).

I personally think ASU is a much better football program than UL.

The last time we played ASU we beat them 24-0 in a very tough game that we were only leading 14-0 in the 4th quarter.

The last two times we played UL, the combined score was 93-3, and the first time was 02 which was by far the worst LSU team this decade.

I have nothing against UL, unlike most people on this board, but ASU is better than UL in football IMO, and I really don't even think its close.
