all you got to do if you don't have this is to get a short piece of heavy iron beam and place it on the magnetic strip on the ground.

Did that all the time by the RNR building to get access to campus with my car
I did that to park there all of the time

LSU is a dumpster fire in regards to everything.

Whole lotta Chicken Littles on here...

It sucks and I imagine there will be a dip in staff morale at first but things will settle.

I also highly doubt gameday parking is being changed as LSU Athletics “takes over” from the normal campus managers on those days.

These new green spaces will have temporary parking for gameday. And Fieldhouse drive and dalrymple will still be streets.

Here is the Master Plan document It is 165 pages but look at page 66 to about 86 and you will see some good info. Page 70 shows the intersection of Fieldhouse and Dalrymple at the Indian mounds.

These documents have the best language. The plan will get rid of convenient parking and replace it with farther walking distances or glorified golf carts that probably won't run correctly. The lofty word choice, however, might have the reader convinced LSU will be creating revolutionary means of effortlessly transporting people to work or class. Regardless of the new master plan's merits, it's funny to read.

Like they would allow parking prices to drop. They will probably justvraises everyone’s parking fee. Yet another fee TOPS won’t cover (not that it should)

God forbid they do something to make it easier for students to get to class and relieve congestion around campus.

From the sounds of this silliness apparently He did forbid it.

Is there a campus in the world with adequate parking?

GT parking sucked 40 years ago.

Gated parking for faculty staff (yellow lots), is more than double that.

I know somebody at Vanderbilt where freshman can’t have cars since they live on campus. Maybe even applies to sophomores as well. ICR.

Looks like that’s where we are heading.

Nothing used to piss me off more in college than some a-hole on a bike. I was clipped several times by someone flying on a bike past crowds of people because they were late for class. Bikes need to be banned at LSU

I'm pretty sure the university is more concerned about the issues students have on a daily basis

LSU routinely bones students for parking on a daily basis, so this definitely isn't their main concern.

Yep. Currently $500 a year. Used to be tax sheltered, but that got taken away too. I bitch about paying $500/yr for the privelege to go to work, but now I’m glad that I’m secure in my gated lot.

Hard enough making it to daycare on time with the cluster known as BR traffic. If I’m forced to catch a “shuttle” to my car (that’s guaranteed never to be on time), I’m just going to forward the daycare overage bill to parking every month.

So LSU plans on removing all parking, yet still using these areas for Gameday parking by having people just park wherever the frick they want?

I definitely don't see how this will be a disaster.

Will it affect football tailgates, I'm sure it will, but people will adjust and be fine

And the legend that is the LSU game day experience continues to erode a little bit at a time.

Coming soon LSU will offer exclusive premium catered tailgate spots on campus at the same places fans have tailgated at for 50+ years. And more and more of the common folk will be herded over to the Nicholson corridor. And traffic will continue to suck.

Heads up, LSU is losing its arse on the not 1 but 2 parking garages. I see this a driving force to ensure those garages return a profit. Think about it?

Woke.
