Bama Fatigue: Someone from BR called Paul Finebaum this afternoon!
Posted on 1/9/19 at 10:02 pm
Posted on 1/9/19 at 10:02 pm
Caller pointed out that when PF was interviewing a UGA staff member named Griffith, PF asked about how UGA reacted to the Bama loss. PF asked if Smart and Staff were gleeful about the outcome.
Griffith side-stepped the question.
The BR caller said that Griffith should have responded how not just UGA but the whole nation and region is fed up with Bama's method of running their program and how the SECN gives them preferential treatment.
1.) SECN and PF give Alabama preferential treatment and a majority of the coverage on the air time and particularly on PF's show.
2.) Fans of LSU and other SEC schools know that Alabama is providing extras to get recruits.
3.) The SEC Office makes sure that Alabama gets all the considerations, from officiating to scheduling.
4.) How Alabama controls recruiting and maintains its roster is neither good for the SEC nor NCAA Football and it is a matter of time before something will be done to check Alabama.
There was Wally Butts of UGA and Bear Bryant's Saturday Evening Post lawsuit, and the gambling allegations. There were NCAA investigations during Bryant, Perkins and DuBose's tenure. There was the Yahoo Sports story about D.J. Fluker's story about how Alabama paid him to play. This was in the last 3-5 years and nothing came of it.
PF did not interrupt nor did he disagree. He did admit to asking Griffith the questions mentioned by the caller.
I think this call reflects the opinion of many fans who are sick and tired of Alabama's cheating and carrying on as though they can do as they please, a covenant for winning championships. It's time for Alabama to be outed and dealt with. Amen.

Won’t happen. Bama makes the SEC, NCAA, and television networks too much money.

I when someone says Saban is a good coach.
Dude can't coach, but he is: a master of recruiting and getting his entire team eligible, and stay eligible with almost zero turnover going 3 deep with 5 and 4 star players; out of trouble regardless of the law: squeaky clean until NFL time and they somehow become a thug; and being a great deceiver to the dumb frickS who can't see he is a snake oil salesman.
His defenses look horrible when the talent is equal or better to his defenses. We have seen it over the years and the defenses don't just look average, they look god awful.
His protections from friends in high places such as Mark Emmert allow such a dynamic to stay going for so long.
Ask yourself how the frick Eddie Lacy's dumb fat arse could both get eligible and stay eligible at AlaBama? He couldn't last 4 years in the NFL but somehow he lasted long enough in college not getting paid!!
Alabama is a joke.

PF is in the can for Bama but he's probably a true fan of the team and the university. He does try to give a fair shake all around, but just like you and me his heart is his heart. Can't fault a man for that.
Apart from that, Bama may or may not be guilty of NCAA infractions under Saban. The Bear played dirty. Recruited all the best players and landed them, then cut thsoe who were not the best of the best and left them hanging out to dry and unable to play for any team. That's a huge reason that Bobby Dodd took Georgia Tech out of the SEC.
Bear was dirty as dog shite, but Saban (as much as we hate him and are jealous of him) appears to run a pretty clean ship. I've never heard a former player of his ever sing anything but praises for coach Saban. This includes Michigan State, LSU, and Alabama players that played under him as head coach.
Sorry if this short rant was a bit discombobulated. I found the bottle of cheap vodka that my wife has been hiding from me.

But watch how fast these things change once things start to turn against the evil empire. It's only a matter of time. Question is ....who will be the next darling?

So you really think there's a huge conspiracy that involves many non Alabama affiliated people, which allows them to dominate? Basically you're saying that the SEC as a whole uses their power to allow one team to cheat in every way possible?

ESPN + SEC Network = $3 billion contract. bama = flagship product for $3 billion company. Unless the importance of money changes, bama will be ESPN's lap dog and vice versa.

Alabama is like the Clintons. Evidence is everywhere, but neither is going down.

Talking about PF. How does one person like PF get to host a SEC show from 2-6 PM. How many other sports talk shows last that long!!!!!!!

I would have tuned in to hear that conversation. The other thing I noticed after the title game was how Saban and some of his top players/leaders were not complimentary at all about Clemson and their beatdown of the mighty Tide. That's the kind of culture Alabama has and I don't think it's good for anyone. On the other hand Clemson coach was uplifting, emotional, inspiring, and spiritual (albeit after a great win) which was AWESOME!

Heard it. Ditto. Was cheering at the radio. BR guy nailed it. PF had nothing to say.

I heard the caller and he was factual and well spoken. Everything he said was true.
The SEC Network is nothing more than a proxy Bama network. Finebaum and his show are nothing more than his old Birmingham based radio show put on TV complete with his staple of Bama callers such as "Phyllis from Mulga".
The ridiculous SEC East/West Division set up is one of the biggest scams ever
done by the SEC offices and is set up to benefit Bama.
When they set this division fiasco up with permanent cross over rivals what a coincidence that LSU & UF were put together. The 2 biggest threats to Bama
are paired off early in the season so one of them will automatically have a loss early each season. Bama oddly enough doesn't get matched with either UGA or UF and rarely rotates either on its' schedule and NEVER will have both on its' schedule in the same year as LSU does.
Bama said there were these "traditional games" such as Bama/Tinnersee, Auburn/UGA &
UF/UGA which MUST be preserved (Notice LSU/Ky was dumped but not LSU/UF).
If these so called "traditional games" were so all important then all the SEC had to do is put Bama and Aubie both in the SEC East. Then all the "special games" would have been maintained as Divisional games and the SEC would have the proper rotation of teams where you play everybody in the conference within a 4 year period.
All this was set up as a benefit to Alabama and they have benefitted greatly by this ridiculous set up for years.
The SEC needs to move its' offices from Alabama. If anyone says that it doesn't matter where the offices are set up then imagine how loud the whining and screaming would be from Bama and to a lesser degree Auburn if the move was proposed. The SEC (including the SEC Network) are Bama shills. Period.

New England gets a lot of coverage in the NFL, too. That's what happens when you win. It has nothing to do with Bama bias; it is bias toward champions. It's basic human nature. When asked why he attacked the Twin Towers Osama Bin Laden said that people prefer a strong horse, and this was his way of showing that strength.
Another feature of human nature is that the weak horses complain that the strong horses are cheating, getting preferential treatment, have a built in advantage, etc. You see this in the rationale for Affirmative Action programs. Liberals whining about caste privilege are the same as SEC fans whining about the location of the SEC office.
