Paw Paw and Grandpa

Later in my life our family kind of adopted an older gent who was a family friend and he was labeled "Paw Paw" and he had no objections. He was a fine old gent who lived to be 85.

Both of my grandfathers are Pawpaw. But it sounds like puhpaw.. emphasis on the paw. More French sounding I guess. My wife's family is from Baton Rouge and New Orleans and they say Paw-Paw .. more southern than French

This, but I never had a living grandpa on the other side of the family. Had a Maw Maw and Paw Paw on one side and a Meme on the other, so I have no idea what the other grandpaw would have been called.
