Kid admitted going for the gun. I dont give a frick about anything after that.
Let's not even mentioning fighting other officers.
Kid should be in jail not in school. This should not be a thing except why the school and teachers have to deal with this kid to begin with.

How about why the officer started fighting him in the first place?
You can't excuse going for the gun, no doubt, but how it got to that point matters.
