Uh, why would you rank this one above 86, 87, 96, 01, 05, 06, 2010, or 2012?? Or even 95 or 2000 for that matter.

Just out of curiosity
I've already covered it in previous posts. Short summary-I had poor expectations/I have a bad memory.

BS! LSU wasnt predicted to lose games because of our players anyone that says so or ever thought that is full of shite.

LSU was predicted to lose games because of what was thought to be a brutal schedule at the time and our poor choices made on the coaching front.

All that has occurred is our defense has gotten us wins and the schedule was no where near as difficult as once thought. We still have piss poor coaching on offense which led to those predictions though.

i'm very happy at how the season has gone, especially beating UGA. they coached their asses off in that game and deserve praise beyond what's been given.

I think what you are missing is that you can be absolutely ecstatic at what our record is, and yet still be dissatisfied at how our offense is performing.

Am I happy with 10-2? absolutely.
Am I happy with offensive rankings? Nope, and you shouldn't be either. All 10-2 does is mask your deficiencies, which you should always set out to improve upon.

But i feel as if 10-2 is going to just call for Orgeron to sweep his offensive problems under the rug and hope for improvement next year.

I was at LSU in '07 and my expectations were set at Championship level football. So yes, I am disappointed in this season.

Man, some of our "fans" are just stupid, crazy, or both. This team wasn't going to win a national title this season. Our offensive line is too inexperienced and lacking in depth. That is the major problem with this team that is hindering our chances to win big games. Both Bama and Florida exposed our oline and won the game. I expect us to compete for the natty next season though. Next year is going to be our best chance we have had since 2011 I believe. Orgeron and our staff are recruiting to fill our weaknesses for sure. We will sign 1 or 2 premier rbs and will sign some good linemen in this class. Geaux tigers.

So they are recruiting 4 star Offensive Linemen to replace the 4 star Offensive Linemen that they already failed to coach?

These are the same people that brought in the current line that was to replace the underperformance on the line during the Les Miles years. So next year they are gonna fix it? LMFAO

Kind of. To more accurately make your point, you should say "unhappy about the utter lack of progress on offense."

People point to our offensive ranking, but that's oversimplistic and ignores realistic expectations. We were always going to struggle on offense. We were replacing way too much not to. In a vacuum, I have no issue with a poorly ranked offense this year. I expected it, and on its own doesn't say anything bad about our coaching staff.

HOWEVER, the offense should be showing signs of turning the corner. And, instead, it's looking like it is regressing. That DOES reflect on our coaching staff.

Against Florida, we started trying to push the ball downfield more. Although we lost that game, it really looked like the offense was an inch away from taking a large step forward. That was supported by our Georgia performance.

But, now, we are back to being unable to protect the passer at all. We have a QB who can't seem to let the ball go on time. And, our playcalling is getting more conservative as a result. These are all signs of the offense regressing.

I though the chances of us going 10-2 were almost nil before the season because of our offense. 10-2 is probably a 1 in 100 type of result for us. We should be very satisfied with that.

But, if we're being honest, we are absolutely at square 1 with the offense. We are in no better spot than we were the day Orgeron took the job.

Considering where LSU was supposed to be according to the talking heads, I am impressed with LSU's season. But I am completely frustrated with LSU's inability to shake this offensive curse that has stuck to this program for the last decade. I keep saying it, there is only one way to fix it. That is to clean house. I would be willing for the program to take a 2-3 year dip in wins, in order to rid that program of that curse. But it isn't going to happen. Because Lord Alleva says, we don't hire coordinators to be head coaches. he was right. We hire position/assistant coaches.

If we win out the season was good but in no way is that our goal. Lsu should be winning titles and we won't win titles with a 1990 offense.

This is dumb.

If the LSU offense was starting to click and we had the exact same record, only an idiot would be talking about us "not reaching our goals".

Only a moron would have set the bar as high as you have entering this season.

Define compete for the national title.

Win the west outright and got to Atlanta?

Win the SEC?

Back into the CFP despite not having won the West?

What constitutes competing for the title? Without defining this, it's pretty foggy.

And if they don't rise to your own definition of this...then what?

Any time you get to November and are staring at winning the SEC W by beating Alabama you are competing for a NC.

People need to accept that we don't have multiple paths to Atlanta like the teams in the SEC E do.

This team was in contention at the right time of the year. Nobody should complain about us not being in contention.

I tend to agree...but then you and I both know that this was NOT the belief when Miles was still here, was it? In 2015...the year he was nearly fired, we were 7-0 and entered the BAMA game at #2 in the first CFP ranking. Did anyone think we competed for the title that year?

Or 2012 when we were ranked #5 with one loss before BAMA took us out?

100% . it's why I disagree with the statement that we can;t make this a one game season. Sorry, but for us and AU it absolutely IS a one game season. Both of us routinely have enough talent to win it all, but both have to beat BAMA head to head. Neither can hope that they can take a loss to BAMA and hope BAMA loses two elsewhere.

See 2015...the following 2 losses made it worse, but the loss to BAMA with so much at stake was the nail in the coffin.

We're not disappointed with 8 & 2, and YOU KNOW we are not disappointed with 8 & 2. The constructive critics here, including myself, have been crystal clear with regards to what the concern is: OFFENSE and how it will affect us in the FUTURE. That's it, and YOU KNOW that's it.

I haven't seen any "haters" here. I've observed constructive criticism.
