Ott noted today that Coach O will get his contract extension. Not sure why Ott felt the need to say this now? Sensitive period, wait till the season ends.

I'm not against an extension for recruiting purposes but there needs to be either no buyout or at least a minimal one

I would wait till after next season for a contract extension. Sure we exceeeded all expectations this year and we could be 10-2 and in a New Years Bowl at the end of the year but let’s see how he can do next season with different expectations. The expectations next year will be 10 wins (if we finish 10-2) and people will expect him to meet that standard. I would see how well he can do with Les Miles like expectations before I extended his contract

as long as there is a clause in it that nullifies the extension immediately if saban leaves bama for any reason
