Band comes down two hours before the game. It's a fun time, I highly recommend it. (Get there earlier for a decent spot.) Go visit Mike the Tiger's cage before hand.

Start out at walk-ons and work your way through the tailgates. You'll have a blast.

After the game there are still some tailgates going on late. Find a nice one to hang out and talk football after the game for a few hours. It takes a 1 1/2 hrs to 2 hrs for traffic to die down to where you can get an Uber without much difficulty.

Good luck!

Many tailgates will have that game on. It won’t be hard to find it.

I agree with most that you need to be down around campus by no later that 10AM... chimes is always a place I started and then worked my way towards parade grounds...tons of tailgates off dalrymple there...TVs everywhere!!! Find a tailgate with a slightly older crowd than you to talk to and set up camp and then filter in and out of the tailgates nearby...

As for glass whiskey bottles, just be discrete and do not openly flash them while pouring and you should be ok. Too, I know that they are permitted in the tail gates, so mabe pour and mix under one of the 10000 tents. No bags are allowed in the stadium so if you want to bring a bottle inside, be creative. Again, do not flash while pouring...hold it under your seat while pouring.

Walking around campus/tailgates with glass is not a big deal. Bring a flask for the game. Stuff it in a cowboy boot or in your crotch LOL.

UBER pre-game will get you fairly close to campus by 9-10-11am. Essen i-10 isn’t that far. All bets are off post-game. Plan to stay and drink.

As everyone has said. Start at walk Ons and work your way toward stadium, and past it toward Mike the Tiger. Watch the band come down the hill. Eat drink and be merry at numerous tailgates. Wear Ky gear and “tiger bait” Bama fans and we will feed you.

Post-game Walk Ons always has a band. Good times. Go there til traffic dies down, watch shite-faced co-eds and listen to music.

For big games such as Bama, we tailgate post game till the crowd/traffic dies down. We’ll have a tv or two and plenty of food. We’re on Stadium east of highland. Not sure where yet bc it’s first come first serve on spots. If you’re out that way, you’re more than welcome to hang.

Don't bring one you're fond of. Can't bring it in the stadium.

If you really wanna impress - get out early with a crap load of chicken mini biscuits from chick-fil-a to feed to the cooks starting early for the tailgates. Easy way to make friends.

This guy knows what is going on.... No better way to make a friend than to feed a cook bright and early and fixing him a good screwdriver lol

PS- Chicken Minis or a spicy chicken biscuit is the best goddamned thing since sliced bread bawwwsss!!

Even though you're not an LSU fan, yell your arse off in the stadium. We need that place rocking like never before.

Lots of good advice above, so here is one bit that you might try if you do not want to hang out at a bar (Chimes, Barcadia) after the game.

Continue north on Highland Rd. for about 4 or 5 blocks to Roosevelt. There is a convenience store/gas station on the southeast corner of that intersection. To your right onto E Roosevelt (one block away) is Thomas Delpit Dr. Go that one block and do your uber/lyft request. Delpit should be open coming in from the north and it is an easy access to the general area for a driver.

Now here is the important part. This is a pretty tough area, so do not hang around at the corner of Delpit and Roosevelt. Walk back the one block to Highland and Roosevelt and watch for the driver and try to time it when your app says he is one minute away. Stay with your friends the whole time just to be safe (I'm not joking).

Delpit is an excellent way to go north and get to I-10 east and back to your hotel.

Hope you have a great time at the Game.

GO TIGERS!!

1. We're staying at a hotel out by I-10/Essen - a little further out than we wanted to be but we booked late. We are in our early 30s and plan to tailgate (read: drink) all day, so driving is out. The Uber/Lyft stories sound horrible - is it really that bad? I know it won't be as much of a hassle getting to campus early in the morning but any tips on where we should walk after the game ends to improve the likelihood of not waiting for hours? I don't really care about the surge prices, we'll split the cost 4 ways so it won't be a total kick in the D.

Game Day Shuttles

These shuttles go back and forth from downtown to the stadium. You could always Uber/Lyft from the hotel to downtown and then use the shuttle, also a lot of hotels have a shuttle service, they may take you downtown. After the game you can take the shuttle back, party downtown and then Uber back to the hotel.

You can buy a ticket for the shuttle on line I believe. They do not start running till three hours before the game. Buy your ticket, but get to the game early by Uber, take the shuttle back to one of the drop off points and call Uber to take you to your hotel.
