Everyone that signed off on the Ensminger promotion should be fired today.

I said it months ago, I said it weeks ago and I'll say it again. The Steve Ensminger promotion would be the end of O and Alleva in anything related to LSU. They'll all be job hunting because of that move. Maybe not this offseason but definitely by 2020. I can't think of another major program that would make a similar hire. Same goes for O. Alleva has to go before the football program can actually take a step forward to the modern era of college football. Does anyone run an offense like we're seeing LSU trot out there every week?

Why is it stupid? Give us some substance. The offense has been shite all year. They couldn't move the ball against SLU and La. Tech because of protection issues and he's made exactly zero adjustments. High school coaches know how to adjust play calls to slow down a pass rush. Not E and/or O. It's mind boggling.

LSU has proven that they don't give a shite about winning, as evidenced by hiring a Head Coonass with zero history of success and an Offensive Coordinator with an equivalent success rate. Fans are back to just enjoying the tailgating experience and hoping for an upset. The feeling of having an opportunity for a championship season is simply a distant memory.

After 2020?
That's a full contract, it would be sad if we have to wait for 2020 given the lack of achieving ANY of the goals that Coach Orgeron set out for himself and his program.

Why couldn't he leave well-enough alone, and let Coach Ensminger finish out his time as he wanted, as the TE coach? We all know, he wanted a "trusted" OC, and of course Slinger, great Tiger he is, great OC he isn't. But he's "trusted" not to defy Coach Orgeron.

I mean, you certainly have to have "yes men" because a staff that argues and coaches against itself will be a loser. But doggone. If we don't see improvement, especially on the offensive side of the ball, the offense has been static for six years now, save for Zach M. , Leonard Fournette, OBJ and Jarvis Landry, or Derrius Guice. Coach Miles was fired, and Coach Orgeron promoted to H.C. only to continue the stagnation? And we have to wait until 2020 by which time, the Golden Age may well and truly be past LSU.

Sad.

LSU returned very little production at the skill positions. The QB had never started a game before and was on campus for a few months before the first game. I think every member of the offensive line has been injured or suspended at one point this year.

I think saying that Ensminger is a definitive failure at this point (6 games in) is a bit silly, given the above.

No offense without a good offensive line is any good!

He was a failure prior to his hiring. Silly to say that he is not a failure as an OC.

Hiring Ensminget was a mistake. He hadn't been an OC for 2 decades and didn't even want the job. I mean, he turned it down twice before.

Many of us felt this way before the season, but we were shouted down.

Now, I will say the offense has shown glimpses of what we hoped it would be, but ensminger has proven he can't maintain any sort of consistency.

Many teams are successful offensively without a good OL. Those teams have better schemes that hide deficiencies. You don't just give up and say "we will get them next year." Spread the fricking field, put the best guys on the field, and throw quick passes on non-obvious passing downs. Stop throwing only on obvious passing downs with 12 yards to go, and forcing 7 step drops. Not rocket science

But Coach Orgeron is supposed to be the best recruiter there is, according to many here. WHY do we have sup-par players and second string players that can not be effective?

That is all we have read for the last two years, that Coach Orgeron can get us the very best players, "we comin'"

I do think that contracts should be HEAVILY incentive based on performance moving forward. With the bulk of the money coming from performance, rather than this 8/9 win season crap and mid-tier bowl games to get through the duration of the contract to avoid buy-outs

Giles should never touch the field, and Chase/Anderson should never leave the field on offense.
