I understand one is a freshman but our linebackers need to learn how to slow their bodies down square up and make a tackle. White also missed numerous tackles by running like a chicken with his head cut off. John Battle has been getting abused the entire year. Cant cover or tackle. At the beginning of the season safety was supposed to be a strong position group. How does Battle keep his job every week with his bad play?

Read Lester’s game notes... Bakersfield gets mentioned 3-4 times and it wasn’t in a good way.

One thing Saturday definitely showed us:

Outside of WR, the team has MAJOR depth issues.

Baskerville was way over-rated coming out of high school. Package deal. Battle just plain out can't tackle. Seems timid.

Phillips being out killed LSU

SE game plan was absolutely terrible, no in game adjustments

The defense as a whole had a complete abomination when it came to tackling. Just flying around lowering the shoulder to give a big hit instead of wrapping up and tackling. The yards after contact was the difference in the game and also killed LSU in the 4th when Fla was bleeding the clock.

Not a doubt in my mind Battle and Giles cost us that game. If Battle makes those tackles we win by 10pts if Giles returns that wide open punt and not field it on the 5 we may have by 2 or more touchdowns. Those plays were huge!

Also Battle was in coverage on the tight end that caught Florida's touchdowns

Having invisible DE's hurt. It starts upfront.

Plain and simple, LSU as a program was not ready to play UF. I believe the success they were hearing about kind of inflated their egos. They just need to go to work and prepare like a champion this week and they will be fine when the final whistle blows Saturday.

Battle missed a ton of plays last year and somehow earned the starting job again... I don’t get it

Baskerville is young and shouldn’t even be playing that much. But he’s going to get better. He got road graded on Auburn’s first TD last month.

Battle is mysteriously a better 1v1 tackler in space than he is in the open field.

We got beat on the lines. Offense and defense. Both sides missing key players. Definitely have depth issues on DL and need to recruit better players. Too many Olineman & Dlineman underachieving & not progressing.

Battle fricking sucks and people on here have defended him staunchly. I think everyone has seen the light now.

Am I the only one who realizes Moreau is not an SEC quality blocker? Watching him get absolutely destroyed by Reese when he tried the kick out block was just embarrassing. I was genuinely surprised he was able to get back up.

I have been excited when he gets a catch, but is he enough of an offensive weapon in the passing game that it makes up for not being able to run block? Do we have anyone else on the roster who can do better?

I don't think Battle was terrible. He made some nice plays in the 3Q, one on 3rd down keeping the WR behind the sticks. And on the drive before that, made a 1 on 1 tackle on 2nd down that ended in a 3/out.

Baskerville looks instinctual enough. HE needs to add strength though. They repeatedly ran through him on Saturday.

I was disappointed in our return game especially on punts.... you can’t tell me LSU doesn’t have ANYONE else who is faster and can beat out Giles.... dude looks like he is running in sand...
