In my office in One Shell Square. They closed the building and I watched the news reports the rest of the day from home.

I was in Civics class in 7th grade. I remember them rolling out the TV stand with the TV and we watched the news coverage for the rest of the day. I can't remember if we came to school the next day or not - but looking back I'm pretty sure that I didn't realize the gravity of the situation at the time.

On a cruise ship in the gulf for my honeymoon. They cut the engines and we sat there for a day. They didn’t know what to do, go back or keep going to continue cruise

Was in 1st period Spanish class in high school, one of the other teachers came into the classroom and my teacher turned on the TV. Originally thought it was a massive fire in the North Tower until we saw the other plane hit the South Tower. The rest of the day was a very numb feeling.

Well, I mean technically, I was in a catholic school gym as well.

But I wasn't in church.

Driving to work. I had a Jeep back then and a bee flew up my shirt and stung me while I was driving. Heard the news of a plane hitting one of the towers on the drive. I thought it was just another biplane.

Wasn't until I arrived at work that I realized it was much more than that.

I left work early after telling my boss to go frick himself when he wanted me to stay.

Stayed glued to the TV all day.

I remember the odd silence when I walked outside to grab a smoke. The sky was silent. There were no planes flying. Amazing how quiet everything was without that constant background noise.

I had just walked into the office and everyone was in the break room watching the news on a TV mounted to the wall. I just stood there watching, I guess the shock of it didn't fully register until later.

Sitting at my desk at work. Got a message that a plane hit one of the towers and i said, well, maybe it saw it's reflection in the windows like a bird?

Had no idea it would turn out to be as bad as it did.

I had worked the night before at OLOL in BR so I had just fallen asleep for an hour or so before my bf at the time shook me awake to tell me what was going on. I was so disoriented from just waking up that I really didn't know what was going on. Took me a few minutes to sit down in front of the tv to process what happened.

I happened to be off work the next 2 days so I spent those 2 days basically in my pjs on the couch glued to tv coverage. I thought the death toll was going to be much higher from the twin towers. I also remember friends discussing if the powerplants here were a target.

seems like the reports where that they expected 14-15k based on the number of people working in those buildings.

I was in high school. Vice Principal came on the speaker and told everyone that there was a series of bombings in the US and that it was okay if teachers canceled lesson plans and tuned the classroom televisions to the news. She said that history was unfolding.

About a half hour later, we learned that it wasn't bombings but hijacked airplanes. We saw the damage at the WTC, and every channel was covering it. Even MTV was showing FoxNews and CBS footage.

I want to say that I was in 2nd period by the time the towers fell. We were all speculating on if there was going to be a draft. A lot of people were talking about joining the armed forces. We all knew that all of our lives would change.
