In the late 80's, when I was about ten or eleven years old, I got my hands on a couple of books about the Apollo missions and the Solar System. Seeing the pictures of Saturn and Jupiter from Voyager, and the surface of Mars from Viking, as well as the lunar landings blew my mind. I was amazed at our achievement of reaching these places that were a millions and billions of miles away. It began a life-long interest for me in astronomy and spaceflight history. I accumulated a pretty good library on those subjects over the years, but those two books still hold a place of honor on the ol' bookshelf.
