When I was an undergrad in the early 00's half of all donations to LSU came from Greeks.

1) Run the counterfactual -- Would LSU still get those donations with a smaller percentage of Greeks? Evidence from other universities indicates "yes." Hell -- if there was a positive correlation between % of Greeks and donations, SEC schools should be the richest schools in the world. They aren't. Other schools get a lot more in donations.

2) I mean no offense by this, but I am highly skeptical that you had any idea where donations came from when you were an undergraduate at LSU. Not too many undergraduates have inside info from the LSUAA or the Provost's office. Again, no offense, but I call bullshite.

Damages sought in the original petitions are always high. Not sure why people are surprised

His family is from Georgia and doesn’t give a shite, but really, you’re gonna try and frick over LSU, and by extension the state of LA because some frat douches goaded your son into doing this? Was no part of the talk with his parents before going off to college and joining a frat about being responsible when drinking?

Realistically, I see them getting 1-3 mill tops.

As part of the “Partnership Process” between LSU and Greek letter organizations,

students or recognized student organizations to investigate themselves following allegations of
dangerous and illegal misconduct or violations of LSU rules, policies, or codes of conduct.

A huge percentage of donors went through the Greek system and upper-middle class kids, especially out of state ones, often choose colleges based on Greek system. You want as many out of state upper-middle class kids with full out-of-state tuition paying parents as you can get.

Are they going to put up the $25 million?

Not all schools are the same. Baton Rouge isn’t attracting people Austin will and it’s not nearly as good of a school or in nearly as good of an educational system in its state.

Terrible comparison.

ETA:

And % Greeks who donate is far fricking higher at LSU.

Hopefully they fire a shite ton of administrators to pay for this settlement. There are so many that need to go.

The info was provided by LSU through Greek Affairs. Was I able to verify it? No, but Greeks tend to stay involved with their alma maters through their chapters.

You really can't compare the south to up north. The amount of alumni is night and day

In the years preceding Max’s death, LSU received so many credible complaints of hazing and dangerous compelled consumption of alcohol against Phi Delt’s LSU chapter that, in 2016, the Director of LSU’s Office of Greek Life “begged for assistance” from Phi Delt’s national headquarters in addressing the misconduct.

Angela Guillory knew about it and did nothing. She is on the hot seat and looking for sacrificial lambs to save her arse
