When the hell did it get to be too much trouble to close a hatchback or sliding door by hand?

I have a moral obligation as a man to get all the groceries in the house on one trip and this is very helpful in achieving that goal.

How do you open the house door when you can't close a car door?

99% of the time, it would be easier and quicker to just close the door by hand.

Why? You don't have to stand there and wait for it to close, I hit the button and walk away.

Considering one door is at waist height and a back hatch is above shoulder height, not being able to close one doesn't preclude being able to open the other.

That's also where the Kung Fu kick comes into play.

If you can't reach a hatchback, then you probably can't see over the dashboard.

If you're too frail to close a door, you shouldn't be driving.

Doesn’t your driver do this for you? If not, they should be let go. It’s just for convenience and you do not have to use it. Sure is nice for my driver when his hands are full of files or golf clubs or any number other things, though.

As for the sliding door, I do like the option to open my back sliding glass without having to reach all the way back when I am driving down the road.
