People need to get out of the mindset that 100k miles is "high mileage". Pretty much any engine made in the last 20 years can last hundreds of thousands of miles with regular maintenance.

Especially a Toyota. Just bought a Highlander with 98k and it feels like it’s brand new.

Engines are only one component of a vehicle that wears. For example- 08-13 Silverados have a notoriously shitty front end.
