That sounds reasonable.

In an opening game vs. a top 10 opponent LSU is essentially going to sacrifice the first quarter to appease a backup QB and then throw in a guy who has never started a college game (Burrow) in the 2nd quarter and say "go be great"? Ed could probably get away with that against Southeastern. He doesn't have enough clout to pull such silly shite vs. Miami. Doing that could dig himself an insurmountable hole ALL for the sake of making a backup QB happy.

Ed is going to play politics with public statements. He'll say there is a "competition". Internally though, Burrow is your starter unless he is injured or is OVERWHELMINGLY outplayed in fall camp. The simple truth is that Burrow is not at LSU if he isn't the starter. He could have continued to hold a clipboard at OSU or any number of power conference programs.
