RTIC Softpak Failure (Update pg.3)

I have two RTIC softpaks. The largest one (40qt I believe) and the small lunchbox size one. The last two times I used them I noticed water leaking out of them while in the back of the truck. After a closer look it appears the lids on them are glued on and the glue is failing. Every time the water in there splashes around it leaks, and even worse if it falls over on its side the entire thing drains. It appears that RTIC only has a one year warranty but I purchased these over two years ago. Should I toss them? What other soft sided coolers do you recommend?

My wife really likes her yeti.

If the glue is failing, why don't you just glue it back?

Same thing happened to mine.

I hate those. The zipper on mine came off track. I ended up just bringing it to the BR saint Patrick’s day parade and leaving it.

Us kayakers use AO coolers. I'm on year 2 with mine and have had numerous redfish and trout in them.

I suggest gorilla caulk. I have both ones you described, and havent had a problem, but im not very hard on my gear to be honest.

Should’ve gotten a YETI. They actually warranty their shite.

The hell with RTIC, my soft cooler (30) is coming apart at the top and the zipper broke. The customer service lady told me to get a pool repair kit and to bring it to a seamstress to fix the zipper. I even told her I will pay for repairs, told me there was nothing they could do.

Mine is coming apart at the zipper, causing the zipper to jump track!

If you leave them in the sun apparently they aren’t worth a frick, but RTIC replace the one I sent back last week

I have two Kysek soft coolers. Made overseas but their offices are in Covington and they actually honor their warranty. I haven’t needed the warranty but a person in Covington picks up the phone when you call.

Whata know, you do get what you pay for. No issues with my Hoppers that are several years old now.

Flex seal it. Will be good as new.

I have the same 2 as you mentioned for both over a year and I have had no issues with either.

Exact same thing happened to mine. shite product made by an even shittier company. Yeti is king. It’s my fault for buying something else.

TPU laminated fabrics and the ways to bond it are not equal. Higher quality materials and using the strongest bonding method combined with more stringent quality control costs more. It appears this failure is due to the welded seam failing, I'm not sure how to repair that. However if the lamination has peeled off the fabric you may be able to relaminate it with care and a hot iron.
