I am a Christian. If you are not, I urge you to consider your options concerning the afterlife. To me, Jesus has the answer to having eternal life in Heaven. May God bless you with the wisdom to discern the truth. And may God bless you with peace and physical and spiritual strength.

My wife’s step-mother has liver cancer and was given 2 years to live. That was over 12 years ago and she’s still plugging away. Keep fighting & stay strong.

Your tumors may not show up on a regular PET scan as the study depends on the accumulation of FDG - a radioactive sugar conjugate that normally accumulates in rapidly dividing cells. The study in Germany uses a "DOTA-conjugated NTR1 antagonist 3BP-227" for imaging and therapy - a protein that is often over expressed in pancreatic cancer.
This research is the basis of targeted therapy where we image you with a small dose of a new type drug and if you uptake we give you a larger therapeutic one. It may or may not be an option but I thought it would be worthwhile to mention.

Dotatate PETs are for neuroendocrine tumors.
She likely has pancreatic adenocarcinoma, which is far more common than a neuroendocrine tumor and for which Lutathera/Dotatate PET has no role.

I am in a good state of mind. Left from having my PET scan and decided I was hungry. Went to Billy's and got some cracklins and a seafood boudin rollup (doc said I needed to gain weight before chemo) 
Put some Skynyrd on, cranked it up and jammed all the way home. I plan on living and enjoying life while I can.

So sorry to hear this. I started at about 2100 and was down to 98 in February. I was back up to 540 during my last trip to Houston in June. The positive is the lesions in liver did not show up on CT, and the primary in the pancreas was stable. But, it may have infiltrated the stomach lining. I am going to get a PET on my next visit in August.
I just got notified in FB there is going to be an organized event to raise money at City Park in NOLA in November for Pancreatic Cancer. I have marked my calendar and will have you to walk for as well now.

I too am a Christian and I am at peace with God. Some of my family members are angry at God (it will pass) but I am not angry.

I will forward the link to my Oncologist. Do you know if this is being done anywhere in the state? I will be getting more information Thursday. When I was told it was back I made my oncologist give me an "expiration date", I have a lot of things I need to get in order. To be honest once she said 2 years everything after that was 'blah blah blah', etc. Your mind goes in a million different directions when hit with a big dose of reality.

That's where they are thinking it is for me and chemo will just slow it down. They are not even sure which chemo to use since they are not 100% where it is since it did not show up on the first PET. Hope it shows up on the one I did today.

Not yet. This is part of the newest research in this area. Some of their previous work has resulted in new drugs which have recently come to be available for other cancer types. The information in the link is from the Society of Nuclear Medicine.

Thank you for that. My dad's Bday is coming up and I needed to hear your kind words.
One thing I watch all the time, and I shared it with my dad once, is the Jimmy V Speech from the ESPY's. It is so powerful and it has helped me a lot. I can't speak for what it did for my dad but I will say he and I didn't leave anything unsaid or undone.
I hope it is inspirational for you as well. One of the main messages I always take from it is to never give up and I hope you get the same from it and fight like hell.

My mom passed away 6 years ago from PC - she chose not to take therapy at age 79 as my father had just passed away 2 months before her diagnosis at age 80. We were blessed to have both parents pass away in our arms at home in their own bed - some people are not so lucky.
