How will his talents make an immediate impact on the offense/team?

Downfield passing threat?

Good field general?

Better athlete than we've maybe heard, dual threat?

If Joey B doesn't win the job everyone needs to go load up on liquor quickly

To answer your question, based off limited video he seems to have a very good feeling for the game. Pretty accurate with the short/intermediate passes, good pocket presence, with decent arm. He is mobile enough so I don't think that should be an issue. Hard to really say based off limited playing time and how kids look in practice but he's highly regarded, so I am optimistic

We will see soon enough, his success will not only depend on him. The O line has to be able to block, and hopefully Steve can design an offense that allows him to succeed.

I’d love to hear someone who has studied a lot of his stuff. The highlights I saw showed him to have good poise and accurate at pretty much all routes. I didn’t see him really drive the ball any or use his feet much. I think his maturity and decision making will be the difference from the rest of the group.

Ok, I will say it. Joe B has won the QB job.

He's a dual threat, he's smart, and he's strong.

His pre-snap reads and quick decision making is what makes him stand out. He has an average arm and pretty good accuracy. He’s a big guy that can run but won’t make it to the edge in the SEC.

He shines on short to intermediate routes.

Good friend of mine has told me this: Burrow does not have the strongest arm regarding how far he can throw it but it’s good enough, compared his mobility to Aaron Rodgers and said the best thing about him is he is 10 times better than any QB we’ve had in the last 15 years at diagnosing the play and making a good decision on who to throw it to in a quick time frame. Said he will be the QB for us that we often get frustrated playing against. When we have a 3rd and long and the defense has perfect coverage on our WRs, he will still find a way to squirt out and make the first down. I’m pretty excited to see what he’ll bring to the table for us.

He's exactly what we need right now. He's an accurate passer that can hit a lot of of the short to intermediate stuff that we have neglected for the longest. For the past couple of years it's been sideline passes or chunking it deep, that is an elementary passing scheme.

Going off of Ensminger, if he is to be believed, we'll be running a lot of RPOs and if he and CEH are a real threat to run, we'll have a field day vs teams. Actual misdirection that doesn't rely on 1000 presnap shifts and motions, is also something we've been sorely lacking.

Anyway, I think he'll run a bit. Etling ran way more than I thought he would as a mobile pocket passer, but I think Burrow will be a true dual threat. It's what I've always wanted in an LSU QB.

Rohan Davey was on AFR the other day and said, to some effect, that there was no way Burrow was going to come to LSU for his last two years of eligibility without some sort of guarantee (whether spoken or not) that he would be the starter. I haven't watched much of his film but he is a big dude, has a strong arm, accurate, and is more mobile than some people would think. While I do think we will have some packages for Narcisse, I don't think we will be limited by Burrow as far as RPOs and stuff.

Side note: I would love for us to have some goal line packages that feature Narcisse.

He will throw the ball or hand the ball off to lsu’s skill position players.

Downfield passing threat?

When Burrow is in , there is a 50/50 chance the ball will be passed down the field. That will keep defenses honest.

Good field general?

When Burrow is in, there is 100% chance he will be calling the plays in the huddle.

Oooh every LSU fans favorite term “dual threat”...careful now, you may make some posters soil their drawers.

Throws a beautiful accurate pass. The type of passes that receivers like to catch while still being accurate enough to keep out of the defender's hands. He has better than average scrambling ability and does not go down easily. He's tough and he has good size. He's the perfect SEC QB. He's been coached up by Urban. We're very lucky to have him choose us.

His highschool highlights.

I am thinking its a done deal. Joe has the job. Brennan is the main threat to start over him and he just can’t get the kind of weight on that they need him too. I’d be surprised if he doesnt’t add the weight at some point, but just my opinion thats where they are right now.

Joe B didn’t win the job, he was handed the job. Hence why he’s here. He has no chest.
