Seems to me that the decline really started when they forced the subsidized St. Jean apartments into the area. O'Neal lane was all new, the townhomes leading toward the Shenandoah area were fairly well kept and safe, and Shenandoah area (George O'Neal all the way through Jones Creeek and Antioch) was middle to upper middle class. Then, the Jay's Donuts debacle happened. Seems like in a matter of 15 years, O'Neal Lane has gone completely to shite, there are pockets of trash all over Jones Creek and Coursey, and now even Antioch and Old Jefferson are struggling to keep the trash out. It's fricking sad how quickly an entire chunk of the city can go to shite because of section 8 and social engineering.
