Any chance we could somehow turn this into sign and trade? Not sure what pieces GS would be willing to give up, but it would still allow them to keep their MLE right? Maybe someone like Pat McCaw? It also allows Boogie to keep his bird rights so he should be all for it.

I had said at the time, but Boogie not physically supporting the team, with his presence, was very telling to me.

Also, when he missed the playoff game and was later seen at some fricken concert led me to believe that Boogie was a selfish dude. I didn't want to overreact to that fact, but now I realize Boogie didn't give a damn about his time here.

Feels like I only wanna Do it Big, if I get my max deal. If not, I'll take 5 to go ride pine, not finish games, get a "fake-arse" ring and call myself a paper champion.

I thought I disliked Bron and Durant for what they did, but at least they got their money. Boogie might go to being my most hated player bc his actions made no sense, no matter how he tries to spin it. Dude lost money and respect, to be a cockrider. Hate to say it about dude, but this move can only be seen as cowardly. I pray to God, the Pels are shown to have made the right decision and that this be a lesson to all these stars doing these 1+1 P.O. contracts as if they know career-threatening injuries couldn't possibly happen to them.

I thought it was a troll when I saw it on TD last night.

They interviewed Jackson.of twolves. Rookie star. He was amused and dumbfounded.
After the interview was over he asked again. He couldn't believe it.

This right here. How quickly people forget that in the midst of our playoff run dude was doing Molly at Coachella.

Right. He's probably thinking why get locked up more than I need to if I'm not getting the max from the Pelicans. I'll take less to go play with the champs, but not from someone else.

And honestly, knowing GS will be playing all the way through June, he'll likely be playing a good bit by then. He gets some high profile games to show off what he can do before finding someone to give him the max next year.

This is easily the way he saw it... Brilliant!!!!!

Reports swirling insinuating that AD may not have really expressed to the FO that he wanted Boogie resigned, and that he liked the style they played when Boogie went down.

i'll say this, i hope its true. It would suck if it was nor OR that it was supposed to be confidential now AD looks like the a-hole to Boogie who was/is a friend and helped lure him down here.

Anthony Slater Tweet:

quote:

Warriors’ initial target on the MLE was Tyreke Evans. They were turned down because of the lack of desired money (shots/minutes/etc). That’s what left it still open for the taking when DeMarcus Cousins called Bob Myers.

It’s pretty hilarious that Tyreke’s ego indirectly caused this. Mad respect to Tyreke though. He’s the definition of what a baller should be.

This is what's on Twitter from a WWL reporter:

quote:

Lost in all of this is Anthony Davis’ role in free agency.

Source w/ team said if AD wanted Cousins back, GM Demps would have listened.

Davis liked the style the Pels started to play without Cousins, and he also liked the environment in the locker room more with Boogie absent.

quote:

@JoelMeyersNBA stated that the Pelicans are running everything by AD, and he takes it to Jrue to discuss. He knows everything that’s going on and approves all of it. Noise of Davis being upset is just that, noise.

On my phone and don't have the Zach Lowe article, hopefully someone can link it.

There's no direct report of no offer, but Lowe insinuated it pretty hard throughout the entire article that it seemed like he had no other offer out there, and certainly no clear offer that was better.

Would suck for Boogie if so as we've just completely crushed him for it, and maybe he just took the only offer he had. Oops, sorry?

Will AD sign the super max next year? 5 year 230 million or is it best to trade him? He’s a top 3 player but that’s a helluva chunk of money too.

If he turns down the super max then it’s time to start looking at trades.

Wow, tyreke would not take back seat on limousine.

I wonder how many shots he thought he should get.

He got 12 million from pacers.
Boogie got 5.4.

The ring was not worth $6.6 million before tax. Less tax in Indiana, too.

I just don't see how Cousins will be close to the same player he was. History is not in his favor. A lot of people have ruptured the other achilies after coming back from one. I think the most successful comeback from one was Wilkins and even he wasn't the same human highlight reel. Cousins is far less athletic, so I just don't see his mobility being there.

Cousins better slim down some.

The 5.4 million is a gamble.
Big upside.

Tyreke avg 19 5 and 5.
He is worth the 12 million.
Klay was 20, 3.5. 2.8 industrious d. 18 million.
