East Area Rapist/Golden state killer may have been active a week before his arrest

is this Joseph Deangelo?
A week before Joseph Deangelo was arrested for a string of rapes and murders going back to the 70s, the old man may have been actively stalking a women.
Doorbell Camera footage from a home 15 minutes from where Deangelo Lived showed a strange looking older man wearing a wig who also had a bag with him show up at the door at 3:30 am. He rang the doorbell and waited around a few minutes until seeing the camera. M.0 matches JJD. You tell me....

If its him, then he wanted to get caught. Ringing a strangers doorbell(especially a woman)and loitering at 3:30am is a surefire way to have the police called on you.

Yeah that's what I'm wondering. They all said he was inactive since the mid 80s but I have a hard time believing he wasn't doing anything for that long.
The other theory is he knew the cops were about to bust him and said f it. I have a hard time with that line of thinking because he got caught flat footed at his house when they arrested him.

It's weird because he escalated big time and then just fell off. It's difficult to believe that he quit all together, but it's also unusual to de-escalate and go back to just prowling and raping after he was bludgeoning those people with such ferocity in the early/mid 80s. It's just a fricked up case.

He might have stopped killing, but continued to peep and break in houses.

BTK continued stalking women after he stopped his killings. This guy may have done the same. As he got older he may not have had the strength or stamina to carry out the murders, but he still got enjoyment from the planning stage.
