Maybe I should have worded that differently.
He's not going to get ripped off, because he's going to take the deal that makes the most sense for him. Barring collusion, this would be his "market value", thus he isn't getting ripped off. The Pels want to pay him the least amount possible that he will accept, which is the way most businesses work

I’m listening to the Mock offseason that Duncan and Leroux do every year and they had Cousins signing a 3 year 70 mil deal, with the last year not guaranteed. Would fap. In their scenario the Pels were between trying to figure out a Cousins/Porter sign and trade and the Pels just keeping him at that price. The Wizards and Clippers (S&T for Jordan) were the only teams interested in Cousins.
