I personally don't think the Olympics is a win, the cost to build all the facilities usually does not pay off for the hosting city.
However now that MAGA is in the Picture, that may be different, I hope so

The IOC pretty much gave the games to LA and Paris because of this. There is very little that will have to built. The IOC is actually having a hard time getting solid bids for olympics. A number of cities voted against putting in bids for winter Olympics.
