Realizing it’s a stated punishment.....
That being said, you can be on video knocking out a woman and have a lesser punishment than “tampering” with the sample. As evidenced by Ol boy at State (one game suspension I think) and what’s his face from OU.
For that matter.... be a sex offender and still play ie. Lukey boy from Oregon St.
He did “tamper”, but when he realized he fricked up he supplied his own. Per article.

He didn't realize he screwed up, he got caught, panicked and tried to get rid of the evidence. Is the crime too severe? Yes but let's not act like he was innocent and changed the error of his ways. He was caught red handed. No two ways about it
