Even if they have to play it by the book they can still play some offense. If it's gotten to the point of squatters rights then research whatever rights he has and don't give him one bit extra. First step is to get a deadbolt for your bedroom, buy a mini fridge, and buy window a/c unit. No free meals, keep all of your groceries in your room behind lock and key then buy a lock for the central a/c and keep it at whatever minimum is allowable. Get rid of cable and internet and any convenience that he takes advantage of, even down to a washer/dryer.

None of this will happen though because this whole situation is a product of enablement. They need to take this case to Judge Judy and let her set him straight!

Great idea but like you said, they have enabled him. What you allow, will continue.

So what happens if the kid never wants to leave and the parents sell the house? Does kid get to stay at house? Or does kid get to follow mom's and pops and move in their new house?

I know each state is different but I would like a legal understanding on how this is possible.

Buy 2 pounds of meth, hide it in his room. Call police.

Or use his gun (they mentioned weapons) shoot into an unoccupied FBI agents car. Put gun back into his room. Call Feds and tell them the son was bragging about shooting the car.

It is their house and they can submit to a warrantless search. Gun found. Son goes to pound him in the arse prison for a few years...

Can't do that.

That's enough to be considered trafficking and opens the house to civil forfeiture.

That image haunts me ever since I first saw it a decade or so ago.

I think it predates Rex posting himself to the net by a fair bit.

I doubt they'd be able to sell it. Most potential buyers would likely stay away from any possibility of adverse possession issues.

i figured the notices to evict would be enough. Like they were doing the right process by having it in writing and giving him time to vacate.

Bro, says you have to go to supreme court to evict family member. They have given him more than 30 day notice.

And now he’s going to appeal and get to stay even longer until the appeal is completed.

But then he’ll appeal that appeal. And then again.

He looks exactly like I expected.

This is one of the dumbest cases I have ever seen. Grow up and move out, damn mooch.
