re: Bird feeder squirrel deterrents that work

After trying grease on the pole, I ran conduit and electric cable underground and rigged up an electric fence transformer with coils of wire made from the copper ground wires used on telephone poles. The hot and ground coils are separated going up the feeder pole. Since then, no squirrel has made it to the bird feeder in over 20 yrs. Sometimes I see a young one try it for the first time. And that's the last time. Amazing how far they can fly after being ZAPPED! Hahaha.
