Fleury was the number one goaltender and Jeff Zaggert (? I think that was his last name. It was something that started with Z.) was the back up. Fleury got hurt right before the end of the regular season and they called up Murray. Zaggert started the first two games in the first round against the Rangers. After they lost game two they switched to Murray.

Then you go back to last year where Fleury started because Murray was injured in a few games.

I know, but CBC has given Maple Leafs preference all year. Maple Leafs were often the featured game on CBC during the season while Jets were usually pushed to one of the other networks. I’d rather watch Jets instead.

So I just found out Vegas had a team and were a 1 seed and swept the first series. How did they get so good so fast?

Pay half a billion dollars for a team and the league will help you out.

The expansion draft rules gave them access to players head and shoulders better than any expansion team in any sport has ever seen.

To McPhee's credit, he didn't indulge in the temptations to get "established" player or care about grit or veteran leadership. He took the draft as a chance to get a bunch of middle 6 forwards and 2nd pairing defensemen without getting stuck with any bad contracts. He went for depth.

Also, being allowed to trade before the expansion draft really helped him, as Vegas essentially extorted teams not to select certain players. They took payoffs in order to not select other team's core guys. It's how they robbed Florida blind.

The 16 year old young lady who did the anthems tonight has a hell of a future in front of her. Hell of a voice.

Thought about buying tickets, but didn't want to see a potential elimination game.

Bad play by Rask, misplayed the dump-in that would have been easily cleared by Chara otherwise. Then gave up a juicy rebound straight in front of the net basically.

Wow, Leafs second goal overturned, goalie interference. Hyman did catch Rask's blocker pretty good, but damn, that's tough. There have been worse calls in these playoffs though.

CBJ ties it up with a wicked snap shot. Not sure how that got through.
