Well, people will be angry because this is a systemic problem in all LSU sports. There is ZERO reason Brandon Sampson should go Pro. He's a role player. I want him back because when he's hot, he can score 20 and he's athletic as Hell. He is entirely too inconsistent to sniff the NBA, I would be shocked if he even contributes in the G League until a few years from now.

If a guy like Sampson comes back, if just gives you that much more depth. You have guards of Waters, Edwards, Smart, Sampson, Mays...that is perhaps one of the best 5 guard rotation in the country. Programs like Kentucky and Duke can't even really go 5-deep because of the attrition. Hell, most the year Duke only went 7-8 deep, same with Virginia. It's just a shame that Sampson would rather bolt as soon as possible than try and compete for a program changing year.

All my opinion.

Agreed on all counts. Seems like we have had a few guys make a bad decision to go pro early. If Blakeney had stayed this year and been able to do what he did in the g league under wade he would have been a top 10 draft pick. As it is he does 10 day contracts every now and then. I beleive Sampson would be an even worse decision unless he is ready to play over seas right now. A healthy year under Wade help him a lot imo.

I agree with a lot of what you said. But it really depends on a persons financial situation and their educational goals.

I don't know what he thinks, but just in general for a player that is marginal skill level and not bought into school... if he can make $80k-$250k+ for 4-5 years bouncing around, we're capitalists, don't see how that bothers people. It might be the most per year he makes in his lifetime and use as fuel for rest of life.
