Academically Texas and Texas aTm are on par with Ivy League schools. Great schools.
High schools in Texas are great as well. Not sure why anyone would raise a family in La if they had an opportunity to move.

Ummm...Texas is a huge state and most college bound seniors in the state probably want to attend UT or A&M as their first choice. Just because they can be extremely selective with their applicants doesnt mean the academic programs are that much better than comparable regional schools.
