Jourdan River camps

Thinking about buying a place in Kiln/Bay St Louis on the Jourdan River.
Any feedback from the OB on the good parts of the area and river? Pros and Cons (besides possible meth heads)?

You need to decide if you want to be in the mouth of the Joursan, or up river (above/below I-10).
You want access for bay fishing, or a place to ski?

The Steamer just opened up too. The closer to the bay the better the access to sourrounding areas. However its also the most crowded and most expensive.

We just leave from the Yacht Club. Old Towne is where it's at in BSL...but nothing there qualifies as a camp. Summer house, weekender (if you're from NOLA), but not camp.

OP made it sound like he wanted to be on the river. He can always take the boat and dock at the marina if he wants to hang out in BSL

On the river is a misnomer in most places, it's on a man made canal is more like it.
I was just saying...going to Streamer on a boat is awesome, but you don't have to live on the water to do that.
I've taken multiple friends on drives to 'find a place on the water', with agents on the phone to see what's available and at what price...none of them have ever purchased. It's tougher than you'd think to check all of the boxes.
Best 'camp' on the water I've been to was in Timber Ridge. If I was looking to ski I'd live up in the Kiln. In the mouth is where you want to be for a bay fishing spot.

BSL is awesome
I would say the part of the river you want to be on depends on your interests.
If you enjoy fishing/hanging out at the bars on the bay you will want to be south of I10. It's closer to the bay/gulf and not very windy like north of I10 if you are running in the dark. Also a lot closer to the casino/bars/restaurants in town.
If you plan on just riding around in a pontoon boat and stopping at the sand bars then you will probably want to be north of I10.
We are south of I10 off Deer Dr. We are on a canal that opens up into the Jourdan River. The camp next door to us is actually for sale right now. That whole area is nice in that we can be on the river in 5 minutes via boat or in town in BSL in 5 minutes via vehicle.
Let me know if you have any more questions

Camp on the river
I understand what you're saying, I grew up in BSL. Extremely familiar with Waveland/BSL/Pass area. The above link took me all of 2 minutes to find what OP is looking for

Yep. If I wanted to be on the water, I would look here rather than up the Jourdan.

I like to do this even when it would be less hassle to just drive. I'll launch at henderson in Pass just to ride across the bay and dock at BSL.
