Somebody sell me on this. Any good? Bored with destiny. Never played any of these MH titles. Is it a grind fest? Whats the gameplay like? Can u play solo or do you need to team up to be successful? Whats the loot system like?

Great Series and this one may be the best ever by the looks of it. I am in day 1.

Oh yea. Playing through the game isn't that bad but once you get into the high ranks it is a grind to get good gear. But that is part of the fun.

An arcade like Dark Souls. But you are focused on taking down one large beast.

Can do it either way. Monster have less health when solo. Much more fun with groups though and some weapons are tough to use solo.

Kill monsters and you can carve them. It is RNG for what loot you get from them. You then can craft and trade those parts for better gear.

It's like dark souls in the sense that you feel yourself becoming better. You come to realize that you're the one leveling up, the gear in the game is just secondary.
It's a very replayable game. If you've never played one, MHW is by far the best one to jump in to.
Just a word of warning about the beta: they give you some pretty OP gear. Judge the beta for the gameplay only. The actual game is much better, including a HUB town you run around and crafting gear upgrades. You're literally only playing a hunt, not everything else that goes into it.
In reality you start with nothing except some basic weapons and armour, And build up a powerful armory made from parts carved from monsters you slay.

There typically isn't, but that's something they added in for Monster Hunter World.

I'm downloading the Beta. I'm going to try it. Never played one before.

Well there kind of is actually. In the past there has been an offline town and an online town, both of which are different.
The offline town is designed for single player only, and has a story you play through. It's somewhat nonlinear in the sense that you have some flexibility in the order in which you play quests.
The online town isn't really story driven. It's designed for multiplayer or solo, and the monsters have more HP and do more damage.
In MHW, they are doing away with the online/offline breakdown. It's all one thing, and you can choose to play with others or not, and the game scales in difficulty accordingly.
There will almost certainly be some kind of rough order in which you play through the game, you will beat one star quests before two, two star quests before three, etc. etc. You could call it a campaign, but you can go back and replay any previous quest to farm a particular monster. It's very flexible, you largely do what you want.

It’s pretty interesting. Definitely more fun with a party. I’m not very good though. The time limit kept ending before I could kill the thing.

Played the beta and honestly didn’t like it. May not be my sort of game. It just feels clunky and mechanically cluttered.

Well that's not good.

I can guarantee you that I am an exception though. Everyone else I have heard loves it. It just doesn’t click with me.

Clunky is why I can't get into the division

I’m playing Assasin’s Creed Origins, Dark Souls 3, Divinity Original Sin And Total War Wahrhammer 1. and having a blast with all. I have 70 hours put in and Ive still got tons to do in ACO and don’t get me started on the others. I feel comfortable being extremely selective in what I play.

DK3 and ACO are PS4. Others are PC
