Beta is not like the real game.
It was extremely easy. This won't be the case in the real game.
They did add in a tough hunt in the later beta weekends though.
But what do you mean by them getting away with it because of Capcom?
Game may not be for everybody but if you like grindy, PVE online co-ops it is great. I always enjoyed it.

My son wants to get this. We have Xb1. Im a bit worried though, as regarding the beta the devs said they were solely focused on PS4, that this may carry over into the full game.
Should I be worried? The game looks like lots of fun.

Should not be.
Only thing you won't get on xbox is being able to play as Alloy. A bow and her armor set that when equipped makes your character turn into her. As far as I know, everything else is the same.

What was there before is not considered a "campaign" by any normal measure. Having quests you do to increase your HR and improve your gear is not a campaign or story. It's just offline questing and progression with NPCs serving as interfaces to tie it together.
What they're promising for MH World is something that actually has a narrative and character development.
