I agree that for now it won’t surpass fiber, but considering most of the country is not high density urban areas fiber won’t be predominant in most areas....especially the area I live. Companies currently have no incentive to run expensive fiber into low population areas. Again, no problem with that issue I only hope market competition will drive companies to develop more wireless options and better service.

I’m not tech savvy but I thought I read somewhere where there is technology in development using LED lighting to beam internet? My main interest in all this is due mainly to the area I live.....absolutely love living in the country but I have shite for options technology wise

It's called "LiFi." It's pretty cool, but you'll still need the Internet piped to your home in some way. LiFi is mostly just a local wireless access point.

Fiber is cheaper to run than copper. Having incentive to replace the copper wire is a different story. AT&T along with many other publicly traded companies have been using their subsidies for decades to improve their bottom line instead of keeping up with technology and increasing the quality of service for their rural customers unlike many of the privately owned ISPs.
