It also helps we have a much better selection of places to do those things, and we don't need to take a 100 question test on getting a license to fricking fish ( lived in Italy for three years )

Europe has some amazing places to fish and hike however much of it is private or even if there is public access it’s controlled via a super confusing local licensing system

For example - there is no public waters in Germany to fish. You want to fish that lake or stream? Better find out who owns the rights to fish there and inquire for a permit and you better know the exact regulations and land boundaries that permit grants you.
