Had an awesome hunt this morning. Moved to a tripod on a ridge around 8 am because hypothermia was setting in. Had 2 does by me run off and looked behind me and a big boy was way down in a bottom walking away. Pulled off a miracle shot and got him. 205 lb 10 point with a broken jaw. Won't score high but was an old warrior. Will post a pic when I get home

EtA: good sized doe. 9mm had to finish it off but good 80 yard shot by the ol lady

Coyote down. My wife stayed back at the house and saw the buck I was after below the house. Will probably be hunting out the back bedroom window tomorrow morning.

Nice sunset tonight

Pretty ethical shot on the coyote. You didn’t want to gut shoot and let it run off and brag on fb about it?

First duck hunt for this deer hunter. 4 mallards. That’s some fun sheet.

Saw lots of deer this afternoon, but not the right one

Ended up with a doe for the freezer. I always feel good when they drop in their tracks.

No luck with the dog. I will be looking for buzzards for the next several days to see if something turns up.

I have told the story to several experienced hunters and based on everything that happened they all felt that it didn’t sound like a miss. It’s entirely possible that I did miss but I’ll keep looking and hope the buzzards show up.
