Yes, that was a typo on my part! Still don't think if would have matter. Lawd, now that I go back a look how many times we had the ball in Alabama's side of the field and didn't score a point!

LSU's defense best be very careful when hitting Hurts as he's heading for the sideline. Without the chintzy late hit penalty last year on Devon White on Bama's TD drive, that would have been fourth down.
If the game is tight in the fourth quarter, I see Alabama getting the benefit of another late-hit and/or roughing the passer penalty if they need it to extend a drive. Also, you can bank on Alabama being allowed to commit offensive holding, as they did last year during Hurts' scoring run.

Refs favor home teams .. and it is Bama to boot ...
SEC is located in Birmingham
I am more concerned with Targeting than anything else.

Generally I agree with the idea that officials favor the home teams. The exceptions are when LSU has played Alabama at home the last two times. The officiating definitely didn't favor the home team in both of those games.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the officials eject one of our key DB's over an iffy targeting call, especially if our secondary is having a solid game in pass defense.

I have no idea. They didn't consult with me when deciding how to call this game.

Biased toward Bama like allways

I see this comment made whenever LSU fans comment on officiating in BAMA games. Simple question, why is LSU forced to overcome numerous poor calls or non calls and the opponent not have the same burden?
I do agree that Bama does seem to get fewer holding call than it seems they should, that is actually my biggest beef. But LSU has had penalty issues as long as I can recall.
This year Bama is 37th best in penalty YPG 45th in PPG
45 penalties in 8 games for 377 yards 47.13 YPG 8.38 YPP 5.65 PPG.
LSU is 104th best in penalty YPG 83rd in PPG
57 penalties in 8 games for 522 yards 65.25 YPG 9.16 YPP 7.125 PPG.
If you look at YPG vs PPG positions it seems to indicate that Bama gets a lot of short yardage penalties and LSU the longer variety. I think that's because LSU seems to get more of the personal foul/lack of discipline penalties. But that could just be my percsption because those drive me crazy.
In my opinion, most of the games we've lost have been because of lack of execution coupled with the resulting frustration much more than penalties.
Either way, I still hate the zebras, just wish LSU fans would quit bringing the officiating up 10 times a day on here, the frequency is what makes it look so pathetic.

These repeated threads bitching about officiating make our fans look extremely idiotic and infantile.
Hey numb nuts, no one is bitching about officiating. I was asking if they are going to let the boys play are call it tight! So frick off

The refs have not cost LSU one single game against Bama... just like last year... was there holding on the TD run??? Yes.... however LSU had chances to score in that game and blew them....
You're just completely throwing momentum out the window. Sure, if everything played out exactly the same way after the call in question then yeah, it didn't cost us any games. But momentum is huge in CFB.
We got the turnover at the goal line against bama in 2014 and I'm like.. we're gonna win this game!
After the unsportsmanlike conduct, the kick out of bounds, and ensuing drive by bama, there was no doubt we'd lose that game. momentum.

I understand your view and you do have a point, surely, but I'm just curious how you felt when Hurts ran it in for a TD last year against LSU when there were at least two, probably three offensive holding infractions committed by Bama players and the zebras missed all of them?

I was pissed, I was yelling at the ref's and giving the Gump's in Tiger terrace crap (got tickets for my son and I, he's a freshman at LSU this year). Once I calmed down I turned to the Gump nearby and said you know what they call that play? A touchdown and shook my head.
Nothing I can do about it, we held them to 10 points, our offense couldn't produce. It wasn't like we would have scored had we held them.

It was frustrating. Our defense played a great game. I hope we can at least put a scare into them tomorrow.

for the love of god, please stop with this nonsense! It's embarrassing. The refs aren't the problem.
My parents were close friends of a college ref who rose to high levels in Texas and officiated the Cotton Bowl and other major games 30 years ago. Refs spend decades rising through the ranks to get to a major conference. They're graded every week on their performance.
You honestly think they would jeopardize all of that to cheat for a particular team?
You honestly think there a conspiracy out of Birmingham to cheat for Alabama?
Do you realize how many people would need to be in on the conspiracy, and how impossible it would be to keep it quiet?
It's really, really embarrassing to keep pushing this garbage.

Officials only show their biased when it matters. whether alabama wins or loses they are in the playoffs. there wont be any biased. If it mattered...then yes, it would be very biased.

So you are saying that SEC football is rigged?????
I think the personal foul call in 2014 was gift by the officiating crew to Alabama both in time and points.....all the other complaints are b.s.....mostly

Great.
Now, why is it the SEC allows an alumnus of a member university to be Head Of Officials?
Steve Shaw may be the most honest, honorable man to have ever lived, but if you don't see an issue with the league allowing an alumnus of a member university to literally run officiating in the conference then I'm not sure what else I can say.
At the end of the day, so long as the HoO is an Alabama alumnus and the office resides in Alabama where most of the staff are locals and can be hugely influential in the day to day affairs of the league, all other 13 schools (even AU for that matter) ought to be wary of what goes on. To pretend that the entire system is not set up to potentially be taken advantage of is simply asking to be made a fool of.
Posted on 11/3/17 at 4:16 pm to Delmore1951
That doesn't cost us the game dummy.... we would have still had to drive the length of the field and had zero RBs at that point.....
Posted on 11/3/17 at 4:20 pm to Nissanmaxima
The SEC wants aUGA BAMA matchup. If the game is close I fear it will be obvious.
