Analogous, but not exactly the same situation.

PSU beat #2 and #6.

LSU would potentially be beating the Coaches/AP #1 team twice.

I highly doubt that happens, but if it did, the committee can't simply shrug that off.

I don't think that will happen again. I don't even watch ESPN or the SEC network unless a game is on and I have plenty of talk about that ridiculous selection last year.

A team that doesn't win it's conference and loses to the team that does will not be getting into the playoffs.
