What should we do about the homeless problem?

I've suggested in the past we round up all the homeless in the major cities and bus them out to the rural Midwest and dump them there to start their new lives, or drop them off in Puerto Rico, Guam, and the other outlying territories of the Empire. Apartment rates in the rural midwest are real low and 10 of them can split a studio 10 ways and have bunk beds for dirt cheap.
I also think hiring a bunch as laborers to work as grunts to help build the Trump Wall will save a bunch of taxpayers their hard earned money, will allow these people to serve their country and save some money. Can also do the same for our Pacific Ocean coastline fortification construction.
I also think tagging all the homeless with a required ID tag that shows where they are assigned to so police can see if they're abiding by laws.
Also make it a crime to panhandle and a crime to give to them.
It's becoming an epidemic and I think a lot of these people are just begging and not wanting to work like normal people do.

The vast majority of them are severely mentally ill (schizophrenia and the like). Most of them are not just "down on their luck" but are incapable of doing a whole lot.

Wait...so a bunch of people who can't be bothered to even pay for food...who would rather panhandle all day than actually work for the man...
These people would build something?

A lot of homeless people have mental health issues. Getting them the treatment they need might be a good start. Also, getting the ones hooked on drugs and alcohol into rehab might be a big help as well. But all that will either be paid for by charity or tax dollars. So, it won't be solved over night.

Good luck boss man. MY wife went on a help the homeless spree five years ago. She bugged me enough to get on it about hiring some helpers for the roofing business I own. So every Sunday morning for 4 months I went to this spot and tried to recruit. Only came across two people that were willing to work during that span. One guy lasted half a day and the other two weeks.
