70s tv douchebags of my childhood that used the term “ lover”.

it was an OK word until queers took it over

Not a douchebag, rather British bloke Rod Stewart sang "you are my lover, you're my best friend......you're in my soul."

Decades later, he was on TV and responded to the question if he was ever going to get married again, with "why would I do that.....it's like find a woman you hate and give her a house."

I’d say Dear Facebook, except you didn’t have computers or internet or Facebook back in the 70s, so you probably would have wrote that in your diary
