Da Coach O comes with LOTS of luggage and peculiarities and you cannot blame the media for that.
WE hired him, not them.
In fact, some seem to celebrate that we hired him BECUASE of his peculiarities.

Something I am invested in financially and emotionally has been turned over to someone that didn't deserve it and hasn't earned it. This individual was gifted this amazing opportunity because the powers that be decided the fanbase cared more about " one of us " than putting in the work to pursue and deliver a quality hire worthy of the position.
Let's try this analogy-
Imagine being set up on a date. Your friends tell you she is perfect for you in every way. Everyone is excited because they know she is just perfect for you.
You meet her.
It's Lena Dunham with a coonass accent.
Congrats and don't be insulted.
ETA- maybe she is perfect for you. I don't know you, so if she is your model of perfection , my analogy falls apart. So , you know , change her name to someone you find unappealing on every level, but you absolutely must keep the accent! That's essential to your happiness in this equation.

ESPN Gameday is an entertainment show. It's there to get fans excited about a day of college football. You know what ESPN cares about? Ratings. Viewers. So they can sell more Capital One and Home Depot commercials.

The anti-Cajun biase is real. Being originally from South Louisiana I've encountered it myself throughout my life. The most offensive comment I ever encountered was a person saying all Cajuns are the product of incest. I recall the comment was made at church function and directed at me, in front of a mixed gender group. I recall it took everything I had to keep from crawling over that table and cracking a chair over the SOB. I can thank my saintly mother's gentle nature for resisting that urge. I wish it had been the last time I encountered that ugly but it wasn't
Trust me, anti-Cajun biase is real and it's ugly. So naturally being the great ambassador of the Cajun Culture that is Coach Ed Orgeron we can expect he'll endure some abuse. In fact, I suspect some of the insulting comments I see here on TD directed towards Coach Oaux is rooted in this anti-Cajun bigotry. Hey, even his Majesty Nick Saban (after being adored by TigerNation while he was here) was prone to insult the Cajun culture as he mimicked the language.
All in all Cajuns are the finest people I've every had the privilege of knowing. Most ethnic peoples who have been oppressed usually are.....fine people. By the way I loathe "Swamp People".
