» 67 — That’s the number of FBS programs with an 11-win season since Nebraska last did it (2001). That includes 41 of 64 Power Five peers.
» 52 — FBS programs with a top-20 finish since Nebraska last did it (2010), including 43 Power Fives.
» 45 — FBS programs with a top-10 finish since Nebraska last did it (2001).
» 43 — Power Five programs with a conference title since Nebraska last did it (1999).
» 27 — FBS programs with a better win percentage than Nebraska since 2002.
And finally, Nebraska hasn’t beaten a top-five opponent since Oct. 27, 2001. More than 60 programs have done it since then.

I think alot of blue bloods are going to start wanting to go back to a smaller conference model so that they can be kings on an island again. The bigger the conference the lesser the chance of you winning it.

Honestly, I am surprised that 43 teams have won Power 5 titles in that span.
The way that this is written, I wonder if this includes titles won in lesser conferences by teams that are now power 5. Example: Utah, TCU, and others

You don't go 7-7 at Nebraska. They panicked after that 2002 season and fired him after a 10-3 season the very next year.

There used to be six major conferences. You had the SEC, the ACC, the Big 10, the Pac 10, the Big 12, and the Big East.

These stats would be different if Nebraska didn't get fricked in that Big XII title game

Horrible.
But he had some real UGLY losses...that dropped them way down in the polls despite their record.
Missouri 2008 (52-17)
Chase Daniel said Ndamukong Suh spit on him. I suppose Nebraska had to do something to stop the Tigers, who led 52-10 after three quarters. It was NU’s worst home loss since 1955. “I apologize to the team,” Bo Pelini said. “I apologize to the state of Nebraska.”
29 — Iowa 2013 (38-17)
Bo Pelini swung his hat at an official. He called a fake punt after Iowa called timeout to prevent it. His offense routinely gave Iowa short fields with turnovers. “If they want to fire me, go ahead. I believe in what I’ve done.”
24 — Iowa State 2009 (9-7)
The most baffling loss ever? Maybe. Nebraska was a three-touchdown favorite against the injury-riddled Cyclones, but committed EIGHT turnovers, including four inside the ISU 5-yard line. The weirdest: Niles Paul, untouched, dropping the ball en route to the end zone.
20 — UCLA 2013 (41-21)
Rocking their alternate black jerseys, Nebraska grabbed a 21-3 lead. Then the collapse. UCLA ran off 38 unanswered, including four third-quarter touchdowns. What happened to the Huskers? “It looked like they’d seen a ghost,” Pelini said.
17 — Wisconsin 2011 (48-17)
Nebraska’s first Big Ten game. A huge TV audience. History! It all went south late in the second quarter. Taylor Martinez threw three interceptions in four drives. Wisconsin, led by transfer quarterback Russell Wilson, ran off 34 straight points.
6 — Wisconsin 2014 (59-24)
Nebraska, bolstered by a soft schedule, still had hopes of a playoff bid when it jumped out to a 17-3 lead. Then Melvin Gordon turned into Walter Payton. In the second and third quarters, he rushed for 359 yards on 19 carries. The Badgers scored 56 unanswered, driving a stake in the Pelini era.
3 — Wisconsin 2012 (70-31)
Nebraska had won six straight games. Undefeated Ohio State was on probation. The opponent was Wisconsin, with its 7-5 record and third-string quarterback. Everything was lined up for the Huskers to break their conference title drought. Then the game started. Wisconsin had two touchdowns in two minutes. Midway through the third quarter, the Badgers led 63-17. They buried the Blackshirts with 539 rushing yards. “It was like a leaking boat,” Pelini said. “I’ve never been a part of a game like that as a coach.”
