Another good observation. I hadn’t thought of that. Does this officer have any input on timing?? Or circumstances (speakerphone or makeup of audience).

If you are serving as a Casuatly Assistance Officer or NCO, you have had extensive training but have probably little to no experience. It is a lengthy process to guide a grieving family through the loss of a loved one. You do your best to carefully navigate through any potentially painful incidents. But you are not perfect.

I would have to defer to one of the posters here who had done this before, but I am sure any guidebook would tell you to avoid larger groups or chaotic settings. But I doubt he can override anyone in DC.
