Why would Trump all of a sudden be rude to the spouse of a KIA soldier?

When Senior Chief Ryan Owens was killed in the Yemen raid, Trump not only personally flew to Dover to oversee the return of his body, but met privately with his wife, and even invited her to be personally honored during his first speech to Congress. He has apparently personally contacted the families of all soldiers who have died serving during his presidency thus far.
So given that history, why, all of a sudden, would be give a rude and mean call to a widow? Also keep in mind that his most closest adviser, who was actually sitting in on the call, himself lost his own son in combat. It makes no sense.

Which brings up the question - should the widow, or whoever answered her phone, have informed Trump that he was on speakerphone since his call had no intention of being anything but a private phone call? Doesn't mean he would have changed any of his wording but he would have known it was no longer a private call.

POTUS called all 4 families of the men killed. 3 men were white the one spouse was black. Why is this being done? Race-baiting.
All 4 men are heroes that fell in the line of duty. Politicians are going to politic and do everything they can do to grandstand and create attention. Painting a broad statement with a big brush, but it is a crying damn shame that the black community falls for politicians using them in instances like this.

How so? Everyone seems to be pouncing on the "he knew what he was getting into" language. Based on what Kelly said yesterday, that is standard language told to surviving family members. The soldier was a Green Beret, at the tip of the spear, who without a doubt knew what he was getting into and wanted to get into it by virtue of everything he went through to earn his long tab.

A perfect example of an evil person taking something meant to be a genuine expression of condolences (although coming from Pres. Trump maybe awkwardly expressed)and twisting it into something evil for political gain. You only have to see her in her cowgirl getup to see she is a nut case.

I agree with this 100%. You have to pick and choose your battles, and this was almost certainly a play by an inept politician to try and score points and raise her profile on a national scale. For all of his obvious faults, it does appear that Trump harbors a genuine appreciation for the military, or at least the individuals who comprise it.
