ore Women Accuse Former USA Gymnastics Doctor Larry Nassar of Sexual Abuse — and Claim College Officials Tried to Hide It
One of those women by on the 2012 team!
LINK
quote:
Maroney, a member of the Fierce Five squad that competed in the 2012 Summer Games, said she was inspired to go public by women posting accounts of harassment and abuse under the hashtag #metoo in response to the Harvey Weinstein scandal.
"People should know that this is not just happening in Hollywood. This is happening everywhere. Wherever there is a position of power, there seems to be potential for abuse. I had a dream to go to the Olympics, and the things that I had to endure to get there, were unnecessary, and disgusting."
Maroney, 21, said Nassar, then the team doctor for USA Gymnastics, began abusing her when she was 13 years old and didn't stop until she left the sport.
"It seemed whenever and wherever this man could find the chance, I was 'treated.' It happened in London before my team and I won the gold medal, and It happened before I won my Silver," she wrote.
"For me, the scariest night of my life happened when I was 15 years old. I had flown all day and night with the team to get to Tokyo. He'd given me a sleeping pill for the flight, and the next thing I know, I was all alone with him in his hotel room getting a 'treatment.' I thought I was going to die that night."

Wow, talk about taking child abuse to new classless lows, abusing a kid while they are representing our country at the olympics.
The good “doctor” should be hung up by his scrotum

Why ??? Don't like a person coming forward say that since she was 13, she was abused while training for the Olympics?

Wasn't there already a scandal with the USOC gymnastics doctor? Or is this a second perp?

btw... that one time she is talking about was when that team won in London. Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman, Kyla Ross, and Jordyn Wieber. Later in the Olympic Games, Douglas won a gold medal in the individual all-around event, becoming the first African-American to ever do so; Maroney won silver on vault; Raisman, the team captain, won bronze on balance beam and gold on floor exercise.

Both I believe.

And according to this, more of it goes on than you know

It's been so bad that in March, Steve Penny, the former U.S gymnastics chief, stepped down after accusations of the organization failing to report sexual abuse.

Victims said Nassar’s treatment would involve vaginal or anal penetration without explanation or consent, according to a Michigan Live report.
Nassar reportedly targeted victims ranging from teens to women in their early 20s, with complaints going all the way back to 1994, two years before he started working as a doctor for the U.S national gymnastics team.
In May, ex-gymnast Rachael Denhollander accused Nassar of sexually assaulting her while she was receiving treatment for back pain at his Michigan clinic.

Sexual abuse is not uncommon in the sport of gymnastics. An IndyStar-USA Today investigation found that 368 gymnasts said they were sexually abused by a gymnastics coach, gym owners, and others who work in the gym.

Same guy... But again,

USA Gymnastics and Penny have taken other steps to keep details of abuse cases secret. The organization as well as individual member gyms have entered confidentiality agreements as part of settlements in negligence cases with gymnasts claiming abuse.
And in court, USA Gymnastics has fought the release of documents that would show how Penny and other top officials have dealt with molestation allegations.
IndyStar went to court in Georgia and won a case in August to unseal depositions and sexual misconduct complaint files on 54 coaches. The Georgia Supreme Court confirmed that ruling in October and ordered the documents to be made public. But USA Gymnastics is continuing to fight, delaying the release.
WHY?
